B O E L A W Y E R S has a significant record (since 1989) of advising and representing indigenous people not just in the criminal courts but in pursuit
of land rights, access to justice, addressing discrimination and
facilitating community empowerment issues. Through this experience we
have developed the capacity to better understand and represent
indigenous people in their varied interactions with the law.
We hold the trust of many in the indigenous community in Queensland. See for example our work in respect of the Palm Island community.
We are consulted by indigenous leaders and by indigenous organisations to assist in formulating and manifesting policy and building relationships with State and Federal governments over a range of issues involving the law.
